Most internet marketing newbies will want to know ways to generate online leads for their business. And you have to know how to create leads for no money if you have a small budget. No more excuses for not having good leads of your own.
Here are 5 of the best ways to generate leads online for free. This is by no means a absolute guide, just an outline of some of my favourite methods.
1. Social Media (Twitter, Facebook etc)
What I like about Social Networking is that it generally doesn't take up too much time (unless you let it) and is a snap to do. Make a decent, personalised profile and start connecting with people - future business partners are waiting for you.
Don't just add friends and followers for the sake of it though. Also, bombarding them with a sell is a no no. Reach out to people and provide them with value. It's all about building relationships with this strategy.
2. Marketing With Videos
People seem to have short attention spans these days and often they'd rather watch a video than read something. Videos are a great method of connecting with people - its almost as if you are talking to them face to face. Search engines also love videos, ranking them high in a short space of time.
Record a good video, choose a relevant keyword and the first page of google could be yours in no time. Create a description for that video and provide a link to a blog or landing page in that description and you've got yourself plenty of free traffic.
3. Article Marketing
This strategy is an awesome method to make you appear like an expert. Write about something you know. If you don't have anything to write, research a topic or company to write about. Don't worry if you're not an authority on the topic, you only have to be more informed than the reader. Include a link or two in your author�s box. One link could be to a landing page or similar and the other could be to your blog. That's how you convert readers into leads.
4. Forum Marketing
Forums are a great way to find quality people to work with and can also be a great source of information and ideas. Forums are very much a community, this is not the place to sell or promote. You have to offer value to the posts you make in the forum. Your reputation is something you need to build here. If you contribute to the forum, you will be seen as someone of value and before long people will want to know more about you.
5. Blog
I've included blogging because having a personal blog is a great way to brand yourself and for people to find out all about you. I like to think of it as sort of a central hub for your marketing efforts. Link to your blog from your Social Networking sources, your Articles, your Videos and from your Forum profiles and you can create massive traffic for your blog. You can then link out to your Social Networking profiles such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube etc for people to find even more about you. This gives potential prospects multiple sources to reach out to you. Having all of your marketing incorporated into your blog, is something I love the idea of. It's like having this platform to market from And make sure you have a way for your visitors to become leads. Having a form in a sidebar next to your main posts is the best way to do this.
